G+_610GARAGE
I just looked at the sd card on my gorpro and I have 3 videos. GOPR1487, GP011487, and GP021487. I believe that 1487 is a counter for the record button. So the next time I hit record, it should be GOPR1488. The number in front of that number, but after GP is the file number. So GOPR is the first file and GP01 is the second file. These videos are strung together to get the entire video. The files are split up due to a limitation of the fat32 format. No file can be larger than 4G, I think. Why they split on length rather than size? I don't know.
G+_Ben Reese
This explains the filename schema: https://gopro.com/support/articles/hero3-and-hero3-file-naming-convention And 610bob? was right. It doesn't say anything about the chapter time limit that I've found... Yet.
