Ok so a guy at work gave me this computer, and it has this strange door deal on the top. I have a feeling its for some specific HP thing but I have no idea. It's almost like a cup holder. You guys have any idea what it could be for? The hole goes all the way to the back. Its a HP media center PC m8200n.

I've still got an 800 MHz P3 HP desktop with a similar CD tray on top. Mine actually has a spindle in the middle though.

Ben Reese you need to fire that bad boy up and enjoy some retro-computing while you're fighting the food coma on Thanksgiving.

 

I had a P4 in last year with Win98. After playing around with multi-boot (98, XP, Mint) I scrapped it. It was just too slow, too loud, and it wreaked badly. Must've been sitting next to an ashtray it's whole life. Win98 is almost completely useless for browsing, though I wish I'd tried the wayback machine.

This one came with ME (I don't remember if I ever upgraded to XP on that one) and I setup a triple boot in college with ME, Server 2003, and Red Hat. Had a 40 GB HD and I added a massive 160 GB.

I had one that had a spot for a digital camera dock.  The cable would run to the back and into a USB.
