hi i recently tried doing the 3 routers config. however i ran in to a snag. about every week or so one of my routers my nighthawk x4 that i use as my non iot devices router just stops working. when i log into my other nighhawn r7000 that i have conted to my modem i see that devices from my nighthawk x4 are given ip adresses from the router hub. my hub conected to my momem is 192.168.1.1 my iot router which never has this issue is 192.168.2.1 and then my nighthawk is 192.168.3.1 i am connected to the wan port on both the subnet routers amd they are conceted to a lan port on the main router. both subnets have static ip adresses assigned and dhcp is turned on. should i shut down dhcp on all but one router?? this happens about after a week of setting it up each time

Best to do 192.168.0.1, for primary router, 2nd 192.168.1.1 3rd 192.168.2.1. So on and so forth... Theses are access ip's what ever issues for dhcp will handle the LAN connections IP address ..

Wireless will be handled by the individual router, I usually start wireless dhcp around 1.150, 2.150, 3.150, assuming you aren't doing a wireless bridge

Better idea to work out what we are dealing with on the local network,..

What are ADSL routers and what are wireless only routers.. Definition between the 1 has a modem jack and the other only has a wan port and I'm not talking the combo routers because they can be a prick to configure and fix when something goes wrong...

primary router is 192.168.1.1 second router is 192.168.2.1 and third router is 192.168.3.1 all the routers had dhcp turned on so im thinking there might be some Collison maby. i heard on a q and a episode of security now a guy disabled dhcp on all but the primary router.

Dan K take a moment to sketch it out include all configuration info on your sketch this will help at a glance to see what you have setup. If you want my setup look my posts up there is a non tested sketch of my "tobe" configuration would love to compare it to your setup.

You only need DHCP on the segments where DHCP is actually used. I would disable it on the main router and set the WAN interfaces on the other routers with static addresses. Keep DHCP enabled for your computer and IoT networks. That said, the behavior is not typical and I don't think that I'm the only one that suspects that you have an unintentional connection between the "main" and computer networks.

it's just odd that the two nighthawks are the ones not acting up my iot router is a dlink and allways worked. i will disable dhcp on the main router and see what happens. the main router waa set up to have static ips for the 2 other routers and the x4 was set up as a static ip.
