G+_David Wiggins
There is an excellent program for the blind called Be My Eyes. The Android app is in beta, iOS in release, and sighted volunteers identify objects and such for visually impaired users. bemyeyes.com - Be My Eyes ~ Lend Your Eyes to the Blind They can always use more volunteers Also, DAISY talking books (hardware and software) were recommend to me by a blind friend. (We talk about assistive technology from time to time.) There is also the Baron talking book as well. I have seen pi based versions of some of these, too. I'm also curious about tech that can help people with mobility issues. A good project might be something like a hospital's nurse call button to flash an LED and beep when the button is pressed. (I don't trust an Arduino network shield, and am thinking those buttons that send a short radio trigger and are powered by the press.
