G+_Victoria Holowiski
Just got this at a flea market for $20. Working perfectly, with tetris. Now I'm torn... Keep it pristine, or gut it and install a raspberry pi?? Any thoughts?
G+_Robert Moreno
I've thought about the same project. It doesn't seem pristine in any way so I say go ahead and gut it :) If not, 3D print a similar case or buy another GB that's broken.

G+_Mr covert
Keep it as is. Look for another one to gut.
G+_Tony Coleman
Guy broken ones....keep working ones working. It's a little history.
G+_Mr covert
Gut it and put Pi in it and it's cool for two years, then it's a abused piece of junk, leave it as it is (working with Tetris) and in 5 years it's even cooler
G+_Michael Heinz
I like Jeff Brand 's idea - add the backlight and reverse-contrast function that Bryan demo'ed on KH.
G+_Tony Coleman
OK.....last thing I'll say about it.....here's a link to do the same project with .stl's to print your own case. https://learn.adafruit.com/pigrrl-raspberry-pi-gameboy?view=all Here is a link to an online 3d printing service: https://learn.adafruit.com/pigrrl-raspberry-pi-gameboy?view=all Bottom line though, it's yours. Enjoy the project!

G+_Victoria Holowiski
Hm. I'm leaning towards not gutting it, I had one of these as a kid and I'm really enjoying it. I live in a remote area and have no access to 3d printing, but I might start looking for a broken one to gut. I do want to find a way to load other ROMs, I think Bryan mentioned a cartridge you can do that with. I'll probably do the backlight mod too, and I really want to replace the AAs with lipos. G+_Tony Coleman
Dave Holowiski - I did a quick search for 3D printing services. I found a case. It doesn't help the argument for being cheaper, but there are ways to do get stuff 3D printed remotely. :) Here is one example...I'm pretty sure you can go cheaper than this. Never used this service, just did a quick search for PiGrrl. http://www.shapeways.com/product/ZHVTJNRJW/raspberry-pi-pigrrl-diy-game-boy-top?li=search-results-1&optionId=56317914 Here are some GB's on Ebay that are cheaper than the PiGrrl project: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=gameboy+case&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR12.TRC2.A0.H0.Xgameboy+broke.TRS0&_nkw=gameboy+broke&_sacat=0 Have fun!
