G+_Martin Roitman
Hi Padre, I a fan of all your shows and some others from twit!! I serve my kids school, in Argentina, as a tech advisor. They have a big net with computers for students, teachers and stuff. I learned that one kid was able to load a porn site. When I asked the IT department they told me that they use Proxy filters and word filters. However, there are some words they can not filter in spanish because they have a real meaning like "minas" (mines) but in slang in spanish means (woman) and so and so... Body parts... Is there any way at server level that can filter porn sites and porn search? Thanks in advance for any help. I'm available to do video chat if need it clarify. Regards, Martin R. G+_Black Merc
If you can whitelist the children to helpful sites and blacklist(pi-hole) very un-useful sites, that may help.
G+_Ben Reese
At the very least, use OpenDNS. They'll still be able to search Google if you don't block it, but the resulting sites would be blocked - kinda. Really, if the IT department has a proxy server setup already, they can filter everything from there. If nothing else, whitelist as Black Merc? suggesed. It's kinda a nuclear approach and may require a lot of work to whitelist the sites you want, but it's doable. OpenDNS does make that easier though. G+_James Hughes
Sounds like they need to lock down the permissions on the computers too. It's fairly common for the students to figure out how to use a proxy server. It's a game of cat and mouse.
