I just found this app today that I wanted to give some love. It has 1 million installs on the Play Store so it's not like it's doing bad or anything but fit a use-case I have.

The app is called Twilight and what it does is dims or turns off blue light levels on your screen so you can use your device in a dark room without it blinding you. You can always dim the screen but it's not enough when the blue light still shines through. Here's some great things I found after checking this app out:

--You can set it to automatically enable the filtering based off of sunrise/sunset or your personal schedule

--You can quickly toggle the filter via the notification panel (or pause for a brief period)

--It's free for practically the full use of the app and if you purchase (currently $2.99) you can set more than 2 predefined profiles and turn off the twilight service that runs in the background altogether during inactive times (though it doesn't use much resources from what I can tell)

As an added bonus (thought not sure how scientific it is) it can increase the life of devices with AMOLED screens.

Using over a year. I LOVE this app. I keep my intensity pretty low (about 1/3). I even play Ingress with it on.

2 things everyone should know :

1) pause it before taking a screenshot - it will affect the outcome

2) pause it if you are having problems sideloading apps (even from Amazon) - once paused the "install" button functions again
