G+_Kyle Jefcik
Has anyone had an issue with their Syma x5c battery connector? I can't seem to keep it connected. The quad will lose power mid flight, die upon applying power to the motors, etc. Moving or applying pressure to the connector seems to have the quad come back to life, only to lose power again a short time later. I'm afraid that the pins in the receiving end of the battery are loose or broken. I'm tempted to just take it apart and replace it with a JST connector. Has anyone else had this issue, or gone ahead and replaced the battery connection?
G+_Steve C
You are probably not pushing the connector in far enough. I had that problem at first too and found that I had to push it in hard until it clicks the first few times but it got easier to put in after that. G+_Kyle Jefcik
Awesome, thanks Steve C. It turns out it was just that simple! I'm really glad I didn't spend the time soldering on new connections when I just wasn't pushing hard enough. Thanks so much for your help!
G+_Wayne Black
Mine will show a little more than 1/8" of the battery plug sticking out. To be precise, .129. The female plug seems to be trapped well in the frame, but as a precaution, I gobbed a little hot melt glue around it. Also about every 4 hours of flight time, I've been taking an old syringe and placing a couple drops of Silicone sprayed into the cap and placed at the top prop shaft with the props off. There is a small metal bearing at the top and so far I haven't burnt out a motor. Check your props after each flight and make sure they spin freely. It's easy to get a piece of dirt or grass in the gears and you'll start having problems. Keep an eye on the little motor gears. I've had one almost spin off a couple times after a crash. And remember, "If you ain't crashing, you ain't flying!" Enjoy, they're a lot of fun.
G+_Wayne Black
Forgot, that if you do use a syringe, pull it apart and clean off the rubber plunger. The silicone will react and soften it if it's left filled with the silicone.
