G+_Joe Menchyk
Does any know of a good Automation app with granular controls that will not kill my battery. I've tried IFTTT, but it didn't seem to work all of the time, or it was slow in recognizing when an event was triggered. I've also tried Agent, but it does not have the granular control that I'm looking for. The latest one that I've tried is Automated Device, nice app and although it has the granular control that I'm looking for at 90% battery my phone would only last about 8 hours without me touching my phone. Please help. Thanks,
G+_Jacob “Jake” Bowen
Have you tried tasker?
G+_Joseph Cappellino
+1 for Tasker. I've never had it fail.
G+_Michael Anderson
How does it affect your battery life?
G+_Ryan Ballard
Automagic. It doesn't fail, and it's got a clever GUI that's much easier to understand than Tasker: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ch.gridvision.ppam.androidautomagic&hl=en
G+_Joseph Cappellino
Michael Anderson - I haven't had it affect my battery yet, but then again, I stay away from triggers that might hinder that (i.e. - location). Instead I use WiFi hotspots to trigger anything related to location (i.e. - home, work, relatives, etc).
G+_F. D. Bryant III
I'd recommend Llama
G+_Tom Marinello
Try Llama. It uses cell tower, not GPS for location based triggers. It won't do everything, but I've used it for years to turn on wifi, bluetooth, ringer volume, etc. based on where and when.
G+_Stuart Boston
I've run tasker since nexus 4, it's great and doesn't detriment battery life but you need to spend a lot of time working out how to do the things you want. I've just switched to llama on my N5 to see how that does. It certainly seems simpler and does all the things I used tasker for.
