Just recieved my a UNO from spark fun and there was 3m Bumpond hotglued to the board. Is this typical for them. I don't believe it will effect the functionality but it's annoying and can't come off. Any ideas?

Also...I noticed they have a sticker showing IDE at Arduino.org yet the Arduino.cc Site said Spark was one of there US distributors. Guess not. Wish I spent the extra $5/6 shipping from Arduino.cc since I was hoping to support them.

Doesn't rubbing alcohol remove hot glue? I haven't tried but seem to remember reading it somewhere. Otherwise, it should be possible to heat it up without damaging the board.

As for supporting Arduino, I didn't realize all the drama going on between Arduino.org who seems to be the manufacturer and Arduino.cc who is the designer. I thought that as long as it said "Arduino" on it and wasn't obvious a knockoff, it supported the company.

So, I did a little digging and it turns out Spark Fun sells the Arduino.org version because that's the only one they can get. On the other hand, it looks like they created their own "RedBoard" which they licensed from Arduino.cc and some of the money they get from those sales goes to Arduino.cc.

Here's Spark Fun's full write-up on it. https://www.sparkfun.com/news/1791
