After learning about surge protectors on one of their episodes I've noticed all mine are worn out and need replacing. So now I have 3 extension cables which I'm about to replace with new surge protection but non of them seem to have the ability to replace the surge protection part of it meaning in 6 months I'll be needing a new one. Does anyone know if anybody makes these because it seems like a big waste to throw them away after 6 months x

Most of them should carry at least a 1 year warranty, they should work for at least the warranty period. That said you probably want to review the teardowns tomshardware.com - Tom’s Hardware: For The Hardcore PC Enthusiast did. Even some of the good name brands don't get the circuitry right.

Yeah you're right I'm returning it to amazon but if it lasts 12 months I'll be putting it in the bin. Seems such a massive waste.

You can always use the old ones for things that don't need surge protection like power tools and countertop appliances
