G+_Eddie Foy
backing up the NAS or 'puters to the NAS? For the latter, I just use Apple's timemachine or rsync/btsync/etc.
G+_Ben Reese
I've heard CrashPlan works, but I don't have a Synology (yet) to try it on.
G+_Ari Nugroho
Crashplan can backup mapped network drive, just mount shared folders to your pc and install crashplan. Select to install as myself not everyone to allow crashplan to access your mapped network drive. I have a qnap, but I think it will work with any nas system as long you use it as mapped network drive. But you need to have 1 pc to run all the time to do the backup to crashplan cloud. G+_Ben Reese
The CrashPlan client is Java-based so should run on the Synology. I've seen some how-to articles/videos saying that's possible. The biggest problem I have with CrashPlan is the amount of RAM it requires. They typically say about 1GB RAM for each TB of data backed up. I've got about 4TB backed up though and it seems to have stopped around 2GB of my systems memory.
G+_Doug Wagner
There are other backup programs. Crashplan is good, but do your homework to be informed. I use Crashplan and it should be mentioned that there are three different versions of Crashplan.
