G+_Emmett Hines
The Podcast Addict app (my #1 choice for listening to AAA and everything else) has apparently been banned from the Google Play Store because of some 3rd party content. According to the developer, google said the "REASON FOR SUSPENSION:Violation of the sexually explicit material provision of the Content Policy." I'm hoping this is a temporary google algorithm snafu rather than a new direction for google policy. I don't see any other podcast apps that have disappeared from the play store. G+_Derek McAllister
I'm with you on this one, love this app! I don't buy many apps but I did buy this one...
G+_Emmett Hines
I just checked the gp store and it has been reinstated - hopefully for good.
G+_Emmett Hines
According to the developer Xavier Guillemane, it was removed because a podcast using a nude drawing artwork was displayed on the Trending podcasts screen (which, he laments, he'll now have to moderate in order to avoid subsequent take-downs). G+_Derek McAllister
That's really a bad policy by Google Play?. That isn't something the developer controls. If anyone should understand the use of algorithms it should be Google?! I assume they found this information out via an algorithm, it would be really nice of them to share that with the developer so he doesn't have to manually monitor it. G+_Emmett Hines
Either an algorithm or a complaint. In any case the hope would be that there would at least be some sort of warning to the dev before takedown (even if it offered only a short window) so the item might be rectified, rather than unceremoniously nuked.
