G+_Chris Hightower
If you have time to apologize for inappropriate language, you have time to change it to something more appropriate.
G+_Talky
Appropriate language is not my concern right now,I just lost 3 months of valuable data
G+_Chris Hightower
I'm just saying, it took you longer to type the apology than it would've taken to change your choice of words. You might get more/better help if you don't sound like an angry child.

G+_Taylor Graham
Is this FreeNAS? You installed the the OS on the drive containing your data? You also could have explained this better. Maybe even added some punctuation. If you want help you're going to have to tell us specifically, step by step, what you did (and with what software). Also the first lesson here isn't "dont mess with your nas" it's "have a backup".
G+_Talky
Ubuntu server
G+_Taylor Graham
did you format the drive during the installation? Open gparted (or your choice of partition manager) and let me know what you see. If you formatted the drive when you installed ubuntu server on it (which you probably did) then your data is as good as gone. Keeping it on a single drive was asking for it to be lost though. Sorry you had to learn the hard way.
G+_Talky
Thanks,I tried everything I could but all my data is gone now(even the os)but thanks for the help I really appreciate it,and also keep in mind when you are making a nas dont install useless things like a graphical interphase like I did and now I have to make 200 models and 50 scripts again, and DON'T PUT THE OS ON THE HARD DRIVE,thanks for the help again,I love the know how community
