G+_Jason Perry
I might be putting my foot in my mouth before I look at things but isn't 14.04 a LTS
G+_Timothy Hamlett
It is a LTS, and the end of support is April 2019. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases

G+_Timothy Hamlett
No, not in my opinion, just wait a couple months for the next LTS. It has been my experience that the .10's are not even worth the download. But that's my opinion, other people will certainly have a different one. G+_Luke Militello
14.04 is an LTS release. It is supported through April of 2019. I would just stay on 14.04 and if you need software at the tip, you can enable the backports repository. Optionally, you can also install the hardware enablement stack which will allow you to get the more recent kernel and X11 software once it becomes available. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LTS https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuBackports https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack
