G+_Sean Coston
I'm currently a Google play music all access subscriber but I keep hearing about Spotify and i just downloaded and it looks so similar to all access that I don't know why is all the rambling about it, am I missing something it's there a feature that I don't know about that helps Spotify get over the top, so far I think I'm gonna stick to all access what you guys think? G+_Ara Wagoner
Spotify is cheaper for students, but doesn't allow you to integrate your own music like All Access does.
G+_Joe Morrison
As I see it the single advantage Spotify has over Google music is that it can be used to play background music on the PS4. On the other hand all access integrates your own music. The other features seem to be pretty equivalent.
G+_Nick Gailfus
Last time I checked out Spotify, the desktop version would add your local playlists from things like iTunes to your Spotify account. In a way that is integrating your own music but they have to have the songs in their library. I doesn't have you upload music they do not have. G+_Ara Wagoner
Nick Gailfus yep, so for people who have a lot of music that isn't in any library (unreleased works, etc), Spotify isn't really that great. But I'm not a typical case.
G+_Daniela Okafor
Spotify is available all over the world. Google Play Music all access isn't?.
G+_Mark
Google needs to implement what Spotify have done... With apple radio being free for their customers I do believe that google needs to enter the market that wld unify music and movies with a subscription that cld possibly take on net flex
G+_Tony Brooks
I left Spotify when they stopped allowing you to integrate your own music with theirs. I prefer the Songza playlists too.
G+_Bill G
1st I've heard of Google All Access is this post. I'll have to read up on it. Spotify is all I've ever used.?
G+_Jared Aldridge
I moved to All Access from Spotify. Spotify works very nice and I think it was easier to find currated playlists and your friends. It has a greater social media portion. All Access allows you to upload your own music, which is the sole reason I moved. If I did not have an existing library then I would have stuck with Spotify. All Access needs some work, but it is getting there. I wish it were as intuitive and as easy to use as spotify. There are some odd issues I get every now and then, and the player is slow to load when I first open it.
G+_Javier Rodriguez
Uploading your own library keeps all access on top
G+_Mike Wills
I am having the same debate. Especially since I share my account with my wife and daughter. My wife occasionally gets hangout messages on her Android phone that sent to me. It's a pain, but I still want access to my own music.
G+_Martin Roth (mipsroth)
Google Music is still missing gapless playback, Spotify has it.
G+_Sanderson Tattersall
Google Play Music has Curated lists (Songza), a nicer interface, and I have uploaded a ton of albums that aren't available on streaming services...Beatles, ACDC, etc.... That's why I stick with Google - But I have bought into the whole Google ecosystem. It just works ;)
G+_Joseph Cappellino
Mike Wills - You can sign yourself out of Hangouts on her phone (which is what I do). That being said, a family plan would be great!
G+_Mike Wills
I'll try that Joseph Cappellino. Not that I have anything to hide, but it can be annoying for her.
G+_Sanderson Tattersall
You can have up to ten devices authorized, but they can't play at the same time in my experience. That being said, I would like to have family profiles so KidzBop is not in MY library and doesn't generate suggestions.
G+_Phil Chung
I just moved to Spotify from All Access. I like the playlists in Spotify better and found music discovery better. The auto playlists in All Access just did nothing for me - none of the recent changes in All Access playlists seem to be available here in Australia. It also seems a lot easier to add a song I like to my library in Spotify and I can cache them onto my phone if I want to save data, just like All Access. G+_Ryan Suess
You don't have to pay for all access to upload to Google, but then your music wouldn't be in one place. Any song Google has in their library, doesn't count against your Google Drive storage. I have all access, but have never used Spotify.? If being cheap is your goal. G+_Art Thompson, Jr.
I currently have 20k songs uploaded to Google Play Music. I signed up for a YouTube Music Key beta (free for 6 mo.), which came with a free All Access account. There's literally nothing I can't listen to anytime I want. Songza was a brilliant acquisition on Google's part. Their curated lists (yes, even among obscure artists/composers) are excellent for discovery.
