G+_?ukasz M
Hi, i'm going to buy Asus DSL-AC68U router with VDSL modem, the reason why is that it has rj11 wan port. I have VDSL line on rj11 from Orange/Poland. Will it work on rj11 and vdsl or is it reserved for rj45, maybe better solution is available.
G+_Ben Reese
I assume telephones are jacked the same in other countries as here in the US... RJ11 is 2-6 pairs (6 is pretty rare) and used for telephone lines - including DSL. RJ45 is 2-8 pairs and is typically used for ethernet. A RJ11 plug will fit into a RJ45 jack, but not vice versa. It doesn't look like the DSL-AC68U has a normal WAN port like you'd find in a separate router, which is fine if you're using it for DSL. The telephone line cord with RJ11 ends should plug in just fine. ? Does that answer your question?
