I dont watch the show anymore because you guys still tell people to buy from Witespy Quad. The guy is a scammer and everyone knows it. He sends you free stuff so you tell people to buy from him. Shame on you!

Read the thread and you will understand.

Scott Weeks? what where you ordering? I have tried several time with him. He does not reply to email he's does not ship things. I end up with a clam through PayPal to get my money back. I am not the only one who feels this way. I have not tried him in almost a year and from that thread he is still doing it.

I've placed at least 2 orders and received them in a reasonable amount of time, especially considering that this guy must be soldering components constantly for certain special order items.

He's clearly a small operation and orders will fall through the cracks. Yes, he probably should get better at email follow-up but I don't really know his situation - and neither do you.

I'm not crazy about the flat shipping rates, especially for small orders but I've more than compensated for that with some of the free-shipping codes he offered after some extended website downtime.

If you're going to boycott a TWiT show, that's on you, but it's not necessary to shame them for not sharing your experience or opinion. RTFQ sells solid products, does good work, and - even with their faults - has done more for the quad community than you.

Ah, gotcha. Yeah, I haven't gotten into quadcopters enough to build one yet, but I'll still consider RTFQ when I'm ready. I'm sure his store is just to fuel the hobby and from the way it sounds he has better knowledge of UAVs than running a business. Business is tough though.

Before college I worked for a small electronics shop that built power transformers. Because it was a small shop, my daily tasks ranged from winding transformers to answering the phone to delivering products to chopping wood in the winter for the log oven that heated the shop.... Point being: running a small business is hard.

And that doesn't mean he doesn't deserve some criticism. Everyone has room for improvement. It's real hard to beat hand-crafted products though.

Tim Dickinson I'm sorry you've had such a bad experience with Paul & RTFQ. I recommend him because I personally have been very happy with the supplies I've bought from him. I am VERY upfront about him being a 1-man show, and I have called him out on behalf of KH community members when it was appropriate.

At the very beginning of our Quad projects I mentioned that Hobbyking is a much more reliable source, but that I prefer RTFQ because I like to support small businesses... and that RTFQ is a labor of love for Paul.

Paul HAS sent me evaluation parts, but only for evaluation when I'm thinking up a new project. When it actually comes time to build a project, I always order under a different name to a different address so that he can't cherry-pick parts for the build. (I do that for all my sources) -- I have also had delivery time issues, but that's why we always give the parts list WEEKS in advance.

Still... your experience is your experience and I won't discount it. -- I'm sorry to see you go from the KH community, but I understand why you feel the need to do so. -- No hard feelings on my part, and I wish you the best.

Peace,

Padre
