G+_Glenn Nelson
How can I impedance match tablet headphone output to inputs on old stereo? We have an old stereo amp and I've connected headphone out (3.5mm) of a tablet (Nexus 7) to the AUX IN using adapter with RCA plugs. But the max volume is very low and the sound seems muffled. If I instead connect tablet to computer speakers it is fine (within limitations of the speakers). I think that the output amp of most Android devices dynamically changes impedance to attempt to match what it connects to. Anyone know if this is true? Assuming this is an impedance mismatch problem. Any suggestions?
G+_John Sullivan
Not an impedance mismatch, more likely a current problem. The computer speakers probably have an internal amplifier (do they have a power brick?) See if your amplifier has a MIC input, or perhaps inputs for a record player. Try connecting the output from the Nexus to them. Both should put the signal through a pre-amp, which will give enough current to drive the amplifier stages. G+_Spudz Productions
Rooted of course, go to System> Etc and open mixer_paths.xml Modify the following lines in the first section to the below: Reboot and it's loud as hell. I use ES file explorer, open it with ES Note Editor and remember in ES root explorer settings to select Mount R/W Hope this helps!
