G+_Tony Padgett
I enjoyed the episode on mics and how they work. Shame you all missed out on a very, very popular mic with podcasters, the Audio-Technica ATR2100-USB Cardioid Dynamic USB/XLR Microphone. As the name implies, it has both USB and XLR output. Great for getting a nice "bottom" and plugs right into my computer. Now only about $40. http://www.audio-technica.com/cms/wired_mics/b8dd84773f83092c/index.html http://www.audio-technica.com/cms/wired_mics/b8dd84773f83092c/index.html
G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
True... that's a nice mic. I had one until the TSA decided that it was a threat to my DC/SF flight and consigned it to the DHS black hole. I try to be "Mic Agnostic" and my personal kit has mics from Heil, Audio Technica, Sennheiser, Shure, and Samson -- But of course I have my favorites. (Shure SM58 for durable field work, Sennheiser ew100G3 for wireless, Audio Technical 2020USB for portable VO work, Samson H4n for high-quality field recording.) G+_Reginald Rodgers
So maybe I'll get a part time job at TSA in order to score some good mics. LOL
