G+_Carlton Dodd
I could use some help from the crowd, please. My step-father gave me his DJI Phantom 3 Pro because it was "too complicated" for him. I'd like to get him a replacement. He has a Syma X5SC-1 that he likes, but he'd like something a little better than "toy" class. I'd like to get him a ready-to-fly 350-ish size (not mandatory) quad that's pretty easy to fly. He loved the stability of the P3, especially how he could just go hands-off and the P3 would basically stop, so simplicity/stability would be great features. A camera is a must. FPV (even rudimentary FPV) would be pretty cool. I'm not made of money, but, hey, he gave me a P3, so I don't mind spending a bit on him. Suggestions? G+_Rob Yesta
Syma X8 is about 350 size and about $100. Upgrade from x5C and you could ad runcam or möbius for $
G+_Carlton Dodd
Rob Yesta Thanks. I've looked at the Symas. I'm hoping for an entry-level quad with brushless motors. $250 is my target, but I can probably scrape together a bit more.
G+_Travis Hershberger
I was looking around on Amazon the other night and they have LOTS of build your own kits for ~$200. Most of them just needed a radio controller to finish them out parts wise. Don't know how good the quality of the parts are tho (I'd love to know of a good, decently priced, DIY kit myself.) G+_Rob Yesta
In that price range investigate the Cheerson Cx-20. Check YouTube for reviews and videos.
G+_Carlton Dodd
Rob Yesta That CX20 looks pretty good! Thanks! I need to check it out a bit more, as switching modes may also be "too complicated" for him.
