G+_James McCarty
I use Google Now reminders all the time. One of my favorites is "OK Google, remind me when I get home....." Then, when I get home I get a notification reminding me for "whatever". However, in the last few weeks, this has stopped working. What I have noticed is, my Nexus 7 (which is at home all the time) and my Galaxy S2 (which I use as a bed side clock and also at home) have the notification for my "when I get home" reminders. Well obviously these devices are at home so they are activating the reminder probably right after I set it on my Nexus 5 when I am away. My question is, why is this just now happening? These devices have always been at home and this has worked in the past. Something in the last few weeks has changed. Shouldn't Google know that I set the reminder on my Nexus 5 and I obviously mean to be reminded when that device makes it home? I love cross device notifications, but either Google goofed something up or Google Now needs to get smarter.
G+_Ryan Ballard
I would hazard to guess that Google goofed in an update or something. Is toggling off the internet for your tablet a realistic option for you? Maybe an app that'll run that on a schedule or something....
G+_James McCarty
Ryan Ballard For the time being, I have turned off location reporting for my S2 and tablet. I just think it might have negative effects on my tablet. Like I won't be able to search for nearby places. I am sure I'm not the only one with this issue. Well, in fact, my wife has the issue too. She has a Galaxy S3 and Nexus 7. I'm hoping Google will get wind of this and there will be a fix soon. Since it use to work, I'm sure its just a simple fix. G+_Ryan Ballard
For both? Doesn't that defeat the purpose?
G+_James McCarty
Ryan Ballard No No, I have a Nexus 5 as my main phone. I have a Nexus 7 tablet and I use an S2 as a bed side alarm clock (smart alarm clock). So turning off the N7 and S2 location reporting for the time being should work. On a side note, there is nothing better then having a smart phone as your bedside clock. I can wake up and ask google what the forcast is, what the score from last nights game was, set a timer to wake me back up in 10 minutes, etc. etc. I have it running Cyanogen Mod so I can customize the heck out of it.
