G+_Shooter_FPV (Shooter_FP
Unfortunately the hill looks too steep for a riding mower, or even some sort of ATV vehicle to pull the mower...
G+_Jason Brown
I would probably add a powered winch at the top of the hill. But I'm sure he's just happy to not have to walk that beast.
G+_Jason Brown
An Arduino and some craftiness could probably make something pretty awesomer. Perhaps Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ? can come up with a way to automate this little guy. A switch in the kitchen would make this idea sellable.
G+_Jason Marsh
Bah, I've mowed steeper inclines on a rider. If I was worried about tipping, I'd use a zero-turn and add weights to the front end. Or wheelie bars on the rear ;^)
G+_Jason Brown
Not all of us have your machismo. I'll take this guy's rig over that puckering feeling you can only get when you feel death riding by your side.
G+_winston xoom
Where does the cut grass go? I have a lawn tractor and my "mulch pile" is about 5 feet high in the front Yard and maybe 3 feet hign in the back yard a good chunk of mowing time is emptying the cut grass :-)
G+_Jason Marsh
winston xoom It looks like the cuttings are left behind. I quit bagging when my last rider died a fiery, horrible death. It was like spontaneous mower combustion. I took that as a sign that something needed to change. I replaced the burnt mower with a Husqvarna and installed a mulching kit. Why carry off the nutrients that could go back into the soil, anyways? My bulging disks are far less noticeable now ;^)
G+_Jason Brown
winston xoom how long do you wait between mowings? I had the same problem, and my only solution was to do it more often.
G+_winston xoom
Ive been using the same (mulching) lawn tractor for over 15 years now. The first couple of years I did try mulching instead of bagging. Maybe its being on the East coast but what happens is you build up dead grass and the lawn isnt green (dead grass is a wheat color it doesnt turn invisible). The lawn also becomes much more susceptible to things like fungus (the dead grass can become a layer between soil and air). You spend less time bagging but have to be a lot more on top of the lawn care (time I dont have) - aerating, thatching etc. Anyway that getup with the weed wackers is clearly NOT mulching so my question stands where does the cut grass go? Two plus weeks if its raining heavily and without mowing my lawn in the summer is a LOT of grass.
