G+_Jason Brown
I'm trying out an obihai with Google voice. I'm loving it so far, it's a great solution for a free home phone. I got it because my wife leaves her phone on vibrate when I go out. The call quality is fantastic. So there's the review. Now for the questions. First can anyone suggest a trustworthy E911 solution, if such a thing exists? And second, does anyone know of a way to roll your own using a raspberry pi with an analog modem? G+_Jason Brown
Nevermind on the E911, $40/year with Anveo gets you that and full phone service. But I am still curious about the raspberry pi possibilities
G+_William Hunt
Check out an app called "Haven". It works for me....
G+_Jason Brown
Thanks! Looks like you can add 911 only through Anveo for just $25 per year. I realize this is a technological leap backwards, but I'm geeking out on what you can do with these.
G+_Scott Baker
I think obihai has an E911 service. You have sign up and pay for it.
G+_Dan Hockey
If you still plan on experimenting with a modem stay away from anything that is labeled as a "winmodem". An old serial/usb fax or voice modem would be better.
