G+_Jason Brown
I'm trying to setup a live streaming appliance for my HOA. Does anyone know of a live streaming platform that doesn't require a third party to let people access it? Facebook Live only lets you stream from a personal account, not a group. And I can't find any service that allows you to password protect the stream. I just need to be able to post a URL to our FB group, with a password that would let them login. G+_Travis Hershberger
You could use NextCloud for this. It has a video player plugin. So all they'd need would be a link to the shared file on your server. The next version is also going to have a full video conferencing solution as a very simple plugin (click on an install button.). The thing is a live stream would require a public IP address, unless you have access to a TURN server as well.
G+_Ben Reese
I've streamed to YouTube, Facebook, ustream, and I think Twitch. Facebook probably gives you the most control over who can watch since I'm pretty sure you can limit to only users part of the group. With YouTube you can do an unlisted stream that requires the URL to find, but anyone with that URL can watch. I really didn't realize how many streaming services there are, but restream.io - The service for multistreaming | Restream.io had a long list of services they support. Restream isn't really the type of service you're looking for, but it's free to use and their list may give you some ideas. With Facebook, we streamed to a page that I'm an admin of. I'm not sure if just that's just for company pages or if group/community admins can stream live too.
