G+_Adam EL-Idrissi
Getting a norco Rpc-430 4u case and installing i3-4130 on a micro atx motherboard and 6 hard drives. The case has 2 80mm fans and I was wondering what would be recommended for an efficient fan but as quiet as possible?
G+_Travis Hershberger
I just replaced a couple generic, loud, and failing 120mm fans in a case at work with a couple Corsair SP120 series. Big difference, and would have replaced all the fans in the case, but those Corsairs have a 4pin connector (most of the connectors available in this case are 3 pin.) Also, in the future, if you're concerned about noise it's much better to buy a case made with sound dampening in mind.
G+_Adam EL-Idrissi
Thanks guys. Ive heard good things about noctura.I'm moving my server from my bed room closet to either the hallway closet or attic (insulated from outside weather) and didn't want to hear a jet. Last server I had was a 1u and I just assumed a 4u would be just as loud or close.
G+_Travis Hershberger
With only 2 80mm fans plus the power supply and processor fans it shouldn't be too bad. Noisier than a nas box, but not by much.
