G+_Adam EL-Idrissi
Does anyone know of any server rack shelves that are 13" or less in depth? Also is cyber power a good ups company or is APC the "standard"?
G+_Travis Hershberger
I think monoprice had some 12" rack shelves the last time I looked. Eaton is my go-to ups now. They're a little more money, but the included software and management is much better than any other companies I've used so far. I still have mostly cyber power units still, best bang for the buck I've found. Cyber Power's software is mediocre at best tho, and I don't want to think about APC and still selling units that use a CAT5 connector for the UPS side of the connection. G+_Adam EL-Idrissi
I didn't think about monoprice. Facepalm. I'll have to look into Eaton ups. I want to connect my modem, micro server, Ubuntu server and pf box to it so they can shut down safely if there's a power issue. Was thinking connecting to the pf box USB and using a cron Jon to shut down/power up the ups. Someone mentioned that before and I'll have to look into how to set up a cron job but seems that'd work. I figure with those connected(150,250,80 watt PSU and the modem) a 600watt ups should work? Unless there's not much price different with higher wattage units. G+_Ben Tyger
I like CyberPower on the hardware level. They are decent quality for a good price per a VA. As for the software level, I don't use their software since I use Linux. Their NUT (http://www.networkupstools.org/) support is pretty good.?
