I may have missed it,maybe I'm confused by all the run around with 10 but on Wednesday, will I HAVE to install windows 10? Currently running 7 and I plan on using it until eol unless 10 gets most of its bugs and let's me choose options better.

It will automatically download, buy you have to initiate the install.  I doubt I'll wait as long as you seem to be planning to, but I'm still going to give them at least 6 months before making the plunge myself.

Once it downloads can I delete it? I really dislike windows,xp I liked and 7 isn't too bad but 8+ I'd rather not use if I can help it. More than likely by this time next year I'll have one 10 machine since school keeps requiring newer operating systems as classes progress. Plus gaming,I'll need at least one windows box.

I've been booting to VHDs for a while and highly recommend it if you want to try a new OS. It takes a bit more at install, but gives you dual/multi-boot without the need for multiple partitions.

 

Also, I'll probably be installing 10 pretty quickly on my wife's Win 8 laptop. Also gonna upgrade it to SSD at the same time and try to do a clean install to get rid of crapware. I'm hoping I'll be able to get a Win 10 ISO in the next week or so.

I didn't know about the vhd until a couple semesters ago we used them with 2012 r2. It was pretty cool. Right now I have 10 in a virtual box VM and its ......a nice os just not for me.
