G+_Adam EL-Idrissi
Freenas question: if I take the drives out and put them in a new machine and use the same usb drive freenas is on, will it just work when I boot it up or would I need to do a fresh install? G+_David Wiggins
The data won't move over, and you will need to create new data volumes on the new drives. Otherwise, you should be good.?
G+_Stede Bonnett
We'll assume ZFS freenas - in that case I'd export the pool and re-import after you move to the new machine. That will fix the drive paths that may change due to the controllers. You other settings (NFS/AFP/SMB/scheduled scrubs) should be retained. I just did this on a FreeNAS 9.10 machine.
