G+_Adam EL-Idrissi
Is anyone else using an edgerouter x? I just got one in the mail today and was trying it out before I set it up at my parents I have a 150 down plan with Comcast and standing over the uap(literally) the highest speed I've gotten is 50mbps. I have it on the default settings using the wizard and am thinking that may be the "issue".
G+_Benjamin Webb
Make sure you have a descent DIOCIS 3.0 modem there. My 4 stream Motrolo tops out at about 135 mbps so I would need an 8 stream to get the full 200. Pretty sure it is all academic anyway because typically 5:1 is what you want down to up so really can only use like 75 mbps. Going to hold out for DIOCIS 3.1 unless they do better on the upload. G+_Benjamin Webb
Also if you set up for IPV6 make sure your advertise for a /60 if you ever want to vlans/guest wireless. With comcast you get locked into a /64 by default and only way is to find someone there who knows what they are doing to reset or change the mac address on the router then reboot everything. G+_Jeff Gros
I've got 3 edge routers at my house and a few more elsewhere. I've never bothered to test bandwidth though because between myself/family/work we're only getting between 5 - 10 mbps. If I find some time this weekend I'll see what I can cook up. G+_Mike Royal
Also any roughter with speeds like that, use cat 6 for the wiring.
G+_Adam EL-Idrissi
Benjamin Webb it's not the modem. ASUS and pf routers get 150+ with the same modem the x is connected to. I turn off IPv6. No need for it.
