G+_Bostjan Cadej
+Fr. Robert Ballecer In your last KN show you showed us how to prepare for swab experiment. What to do and not to do in order to keep it uncontaminated. That was all for the kit and the tools, but what about the room? How to make a clean-room? What simple steps to take to minimize the contamination of the room?
G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
Well... making a REAL clean room would cost AT LEAST thousands of dollars. I've made temporary clean rooms inside tents lined with sterilized plastic sheeting and a HEPPA-filter equipped air-circulation device. -- But it's a PITA. G+_Bostjan Cadej
I was more thinking of tips like not to smoke cigarettes while doing this. Or vacuum cleaning the room. No drafts while the experiment lasts. No food in the same room. Is it better to have natural light as much as possible or artificial light or the room needs to be dark? Tips that implementation wouldn’t cost thousands of dollars.
G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
In that case... carpet is bad, so are drapes. Don't smoke, and don't have any air circulation while running the experiment. Lighting doesn't matter as long as you have a lot of it.
G+_Bostjan Cadej
Temperature of the room. Humidity. Air conditioned or ‘natural’ condition? Is it better to do the experiment in the hot summer or cold winter (room of course be in ‘room temperature’)?
