In this instructional video, we show what a geofence is and how to set it up on your Vera Home Automation and Control System.

After setting up your own geofence, your home will automatically do things like turn of the lights, lock the doors and arm the alarm automatically when you leave your home and do the opposite when you come home.

Eddie Foy I feel your concern as I too do not like to be monitored.

But, Vera's are local devices. They send no data to any other servers.

In fact they are totally self reliant in the fact that they do not need the internet to operate.

This is one reason we use and install them.

Been using a Vera Lite for quite a while. It's a great Home Automation Controller.

Are you still on UI5 or have you made the jump to UI7 Scott W?

For my home automation sensors I use the Mysensors software library. UI7 does not work with an Ethernet gateway, only a serial gateway, so I use UI5. mysensors.org

I will check it out. Everything I need to do is working with UI5, so no real need for me to make the change yet.

There are some nice features on UI7 like modes and geofencing.

I will definitely check it out, its been quit a while since I looked into UI7. The geofencing sounds interesting.
