Question, I have an older laptop with an Intel pentium dual core CPU and two gigs of ram. what is the most efficient version of linux for battery life? I plan to use it as a chrome book and a game umulator

Tough question because every Linux distro I've ever run was extremely efficient. That said, for your application, I would suggest looking into Arch.

+1 for Lubuntu. LXLE is a customized version of Lubuntu, that I'd not heard of until Ron Nichols mentioned it. Give either a shot and let us know what you think.
