G+_Curtis Stone
Hey all, after hearing you guys talk about Chrome's YouTube Centre extension, I finally got to try it out the other day, but now Chrome is disabling it because it was not obtained through the Chrome Web Store and it doesn't let me re-enable it. Don't remember if you guys touched on that in whatever episode it was, but what gives? Is there a way I can tell Chrome to let me keep my sketchy extensions? G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
Nope... there used to be, but in the latest Chrome update they took away that option because... you know... reasons. What I typically do is keep a copy of the package on my desktop. When I need to use it, I delete it from extensions and add it back in. It takes 5 seconds and will work till the next time you completely shut down Chrome and restart.
G+_Hal Gailey
If you download the dev build chrome installer it will give your dev mode chrome full permissions so you can re-enable it. I am going to do so and will report back if it does. EDIT: I can now confirm that using the developers' build of chrome with dev mode turned on does allow you to re-enable the extension. But, you are saddled with a chrome build that may not be as stable as the release build.
