Hey Know-it-alls, I've run into a bit of an issue with Facebook on mobile. My wife likes to use Pocket to save posts and videos to review later from a very active group that she is a part of. Her laptop died and she got an android tablet to replace. The problem is, the facebook app has no way to share to pocket (that we can find) and facebook in android chrome tries to play videos using flash (which isn't supported on Android).

The same videos play fine in the app, so obviously facebook has an android-friendly version of the video. Is there any way to force the facebook website to present videos in html5 or some other android-friendly format?

Alternatively, does anyone have any solutions to saving facebook posts from the android app?

Legacy or finished? ?

Yeah, I get what you're saying though... I'm really not aware of any way to save FB posts from the app though unless you want to screenshot it. For what it's worth, I get the HTML5 video player in mobile Chrome on Facebook videos. What browsers have you tried?

well that's very interesting...

What device are you using? stock android or custom rom?

She is using a new Galaxy Tab S and I can replicate the issue on my Nexus 7, both stock.

I can get it to work using Dolphin browser with user agent set to iPad. She uses Chrome to sync all of her bookmarks, open tabs, etc.. so I don't want to make her switch to Dolphin unless I need to. Also, having to pretend to be an iPad all the time will probably cause other gremlins to appear

To be honest, I'm not sure what to tell you. I tried mobile Chrome on my unrooted Galaxy Tab 2 and Facebook videos played fine. Are you sure it's Facebook videos that won't play for you or is it videos hosted somewhere else? Is it all videos, or only those on a certain page?

There's also the hidden settings page that might have a wrong setting. What is it, Chrome:settings or something
