G+_David Bruns
Any tips on the best hard drives to get for Ras Pi NAS/Media Server? Am looking at about a storage size of at least 2 TB. Also wanting to keep it affordable.

G+_Ben Reese
I wouldn't use Red for single-drive setups like this. Any USB external drive should be fine. Pi USB ports are only USB 2.0, so even USB 3.0 isn't necessary - though may be unavoidable at this point. There are also kits to add a laptop SATA drive mounted directly onto the Pi. It still uses USB, but that may be a better way to go for aesthetics. As for "affordable"... A quick search on Amazon finds several external 2TB drives. A Seagate for $70 and a Toshiba for $67 stand out. If you have a Microcenter nearby, they may even have cheaper prices. If you want really cheap, I'm also seeing an internal 3½" 2TB Hitachi for <$40, but it would use more power and need a SATA to USB adapter.
