G+_Dan Phillips
How many of you are running HTPCs? What hardware/software solutions have you found that work the best? I've been an XBMC user for about 4 or 5 years now. I'm using an older Acer Revo 3610 but it gets the job done as far as true 1080p output. I found a refurbished Harmony remote and a generic IR receiver to control everything.
G+_Clay Weber (claydoh)
I am using Kubuntu 13.04 and #xbmc , I do not have a TV, but my room is small so the 24 inch monitor is OK size-wise, as are the Logitech speakers . The system is an old-ish core 2 duo sff HP business PC with Intel graphics, so finding a low profile gpu that can run off the tiny power supply has been a fun investigation so far. But I have a simple system that plays my movies, streams and music, all controlled from my remote or smartphone.
G+_Jason Wynn (JBird)
I built a HTPC orignally with Windows XP media center edition; now upgraded to Windows 7. I wanted it to function as a DVR with my cable which is encrypted so I use a SiliconDust Homerun HD with a mult-stream CableCard (or MCard) from the local Comcast office which gives me 3 tuners. I'm not sure if this tuner will work with XBMC or not. I also have an older Happauge dual tuner card that will do digital over-the-air or unencrypted digitial cable (aka Clear QAM). I use a Harmony 880 remote which is great!
G+_James Tydeman
Hi All, I've got a bit of a mixture, I have a couple of ATV's, which are all supported by Synology NAS, which does all the transcoding and my old 3GS has become my remote and the airplay streamer. Mostly powered by Plex.

G+_Scot McSweeney-Roberts
I use a HP Microserver as a MythTV backend with a dual tuner DVB-S2 card, a DVB-T2 usb stick and a HD Homerun Dual. I have a second one running Plex Media Server. The main frontend has a motherboard with an i3 processor and an nvidia graphics card, in a HTPC case. The MythTV front and backend are running MythBuntu. The Plex server is running Ubuntu server.
G+_Travis Bryant
I'm just using Plex media server on my 6 year old windows 7 machine and accessing it with my roku. ipads, and phones flawlessly. It is the easiest and best media software i've used. The only drawback is lack of dvr but I wouldn't use that anyway.
