Iyaz accepted a great offer from CNET to be their front-page editor.

We'll miss him and everything he brought to the TWiT community, and I am personally saddened that I won't be able to work with him on "Know How", but I can't fault Iyaz for doing what he thinks is best for him, his career and his family.

Good Luck Iyaz... see you out there!

Well, I wonder if this is the result of some kind of falling out with Leo? Suddenly, Leo was off the show and around that time I remember Iyaz posting a video that he made some kind of mistake with editing the show, or something to that effect. Just wondering. I'll still watch Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ...I like the direction the show has taken these days. Will miss Iyaz running around in the beginning, even though I could only hear him and not see him (due to the opening credits).

Tony Padgett Leo was horrible on that show. I don't wish him ill will but he didn't bring anything to that show except corny jokes and a chalkboard and an overly simplistic way of explaining everything.

james robinson Yeah, it's rare when I watch a TWiT show these days. It was pretty much just Frame Rate and Know How. Leo Laporte used to be a draw for me because I really enjoyed him back in the TechTV days. I'd listen to his radio show on the weekends and watch the various shows on TWiT. I've gotten to where I just don't appreciate his corny sense of humor (The GizWiz is a good idea, I just can't make it through the yucking it up)  and I don't feel like he's bringing much to the table in terms of content. I think he still does a good job on his radio show but it's pretty much the same series of questions each week with people calling in asking, "How do I make my router work?," or something similar. I think he's trapped by the audience there. When he was doing product reviews (and he may still do them - I just stopped paying attention) it seemed like each product was the most awesome thing ever and then 2 months down the road he'd be on the next most awesome product ever and talk about how he no longer uses the previous product he was claiming to be the most awesome product ever just a few months back. It got a little old to me.

I think there's one other problem media-industry wide: Most every show is a talking heads show now. Each show take a tidbit of news and then had a panel of people go on and on over explaining their opinions on it. It's on CNN, ESPN, FoxNews, MSNBC, TWiT, etc. They are no longer news/info networks but, instead, just constant opinion networks with people just arguing about "what does this mean??" While an odd show like this is interesting and some of them really do shine (Frame Rate) most of them get old, quick.

I see where you're coming from. I've been a fan of Leo since the days of TechTv. Though I agree that losing of Iyaz and Tom is of great loss to TWIT.... Leo is still invaluable to the show. He has brings structure and balance to shows like Windows Weekly and Macbreak Weekly. I couldn't picture anyone else on the TWIT crew today leading those shows. I wish Tom and Iyaz all the best.
