G+_Jason Kirk
Quad-copters never really interested me but the FPV 150s would probably be a draw for the kids at a school maker space I help at. Cheap, FFA friendly, and less likely to hurt anyone. Plus lots of 3d printer customization and FPV ready. But first I need to go through the steps to that point to get up to speed. Honestly I've kind of skimmed through the quadcopter episodes to this point and was hoping someone could fill in some gaps for me. What was the model of the cheap pre-made quadcopter that was suggested as a good trainer? What would be a good overall remote controller unit that should be flexible enough to cover all my future needs? I don't think it's related, but I'll probably want to do FPV at some point. Kids would LOVE that. Eventually it'll be used for the FPV 150. As kids make their own, we'll have to get more that would lean more toward cheaper than versatile. What was the name of the starter quad-copter they assembled a while back? Will probably build that first since the FPV 150 is all soldered together. Lastly, it looks like some of the parts for the FPV 150 have been sold out for a while, like the motors. Is that expected to change?
