G+_Art Thompson, Jr.
Hey Android Faithful, I need some feedback. My wife and I were waiting to see what the Nexus 6 was before upgrading our N4's. Well, neither of us wants a phablet, nor do we want to spend $650 bucks per phone. Oh, and we're also hooked on pure Android. Well I've narrowed our choices down to the soon-to-be re-released N5 running Lollipop and the not-quite-pure-but-close-enough OnePlus One. Which would you go with? And please add a comment if you have a "why." Thanks!!
G+_Tyler Green
You said yourself you don't want a phablet. The physical size of the one plus one is almost the size if the giant nexus
G+_Joseph Cappellino
Customer service and instant updates point to the N5.
G+_Art Thompson, Jr.
Tyler Green It's definitely a tad larger than the N5, which I've held and find perfectly comfortable. Not having held a OnePlus One, I'm going on comments by both Jeff Jarvis and Gina Trapani, both of whom seem to feel it's not too big. Perhaps it is... G+_john ferris
Opo would be nice but the wait time is not acceptable.
G+_L I
Just got my OnePlus this week and I'm loving it. Was a snap to unlock the boot loader and get root. I'm also encouraged by what Leo said about the battery life compared to the qHD phones out there. For me there's no comparison to Cyanogen. And for only $350 for 64GB. Though if you really want Lollipop now, OIS, or Qi charging go with the Nexus 5.
G+_L I
Dennis Rice I used a combination of this: https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/guide-oneplus-one-how-to-unlock-bootloader-install-custom-recovery-and-root.64487/ and this video: OnePlus One - How to Root (Simple & Safe): It's basically the same procedure as the Nexus devices. Which of course means you'll have to be willing to back up everything first.

G+_Art Thompson, Jr.
Wow, I'm surprised how close this ended up -- and with 124 votes! I think we're going to follow the election results and wait for the re-released N5 w/Lollipop. I like the hardware specs of the OPO, but I would rather the simplicity of pure Android / official Google. Plus I've already held an N5 and it feels good in my hand. Thanks everyone for the feedback! G+_Justin Weberg (JustWeb)
Art Thompson, Jr.?, I'm still going to suggest the MotoX. Definitely the better phone and is the right size.
