G+_Wayne Black
There's a Drones for God competition???! Oh, wait Drones for GOOD competition. I see a champion in the War of Drones competitions! It would be unbeatable!
G+_David Wiggins
I was actually looking at this myself earlier. I wonder how much the extra weight limits flight time.
G+_Midwest Concert Video
They need to combine this technology with the Google Project ATAP "Tango" technology and just let it roam through a space, mapping and recording. Very cool, but the cage and gimbal structure need to be much thinner. Maybe with multiple cameras the cage and gimbal structure can be processed out of the resulting video - with three cameras spaced apart, you can process out the parallax difference between them, and obtain the parts of each frame that is blocked by the cage. This may be a contestant in "Drones for Good" but I bet DARPA is just itching to fund this for urban battlefield assessment.
