Neil Sedlak  That maybe the case, I will have to experiment and see. It doesn't change my opinion about Shutapp being useful in certain cases though, the white list function is what convinces me. I can see it useful in some instances like trouble shooting and data usage.

But if it didn't have that function I would be onboard with you and the others.

Josh Frye  Having used Galaxy S2, 3 and 4, those stupid phones could be left on my desk overnight with 75% battery and in the morning they would be dead. I currently have a OnePlus and it goes 2 days, I think it's all the crapware from OEM's that are updating or up to no good. I think this is an awesome app for anyone who doesn't have a Nexus or OnePlus.

One of a thousand task killers? Nah, bro. The other three were all strong entries, and a task killer just really doesn't belong. At all.

That's not a tie-breaker! Gina wins, based purely on Ron's laziness if nothing else. [boos] ?

(edited) After reading, i stand corrected re Shutapp and task killing. Penitence..

Interesting discussion. :) Actually ShutApp is NOT a task killer (which you shouldn't use anyway).

Task killers kill processes to free up memory. They concern how much memory running apps take up, but CPU is the resource that actually drains your battery.

ShutApp stops apps from running in the background, stopping them from using memory, CPU, and Wakelocks. It also disables the receiver in the shut down apps. This way the apps won't be able to start again stealthily.  You may give it a shot if you need a battery saver.

It is interesting that both Ted Fishman  and Andrew Carvalho  mentioned Greenify. Greenify works very well on rooted phones but on unrooted phones, ShutApp may be easier to use.

Same as an app developer like Amit Schreiber  and to put it in another way, Apps like ShutApp and Greenify give more chances to developers so that they can improve the apps that work improperly and drain a lot of battery.

Also thank you Josh Frye  and Mark Harry and all the others for your support.

Last but not the least, thank you so much Ron Richards for recommending ShutApp in your last Arena. YirgaLab Team do appreciate.
