G+_Ralph Mills
Windows 10 Update...got three win7's and one win8.1 PC's changed over. Only problem PC I had was the desktop that I wanted to do a "clean install" since Windows Security Essentials found Trojans twice on the system. I had to delete the Linux Mint partition and after a couple "repair" and "install" cycles was finally allowed to upgrade. The only PC not updated is my 2007 Dell Vostro 1500 sporting a XP Home Key COA Sticker. i'm running Linux Mint 17.2 Xfce on that notebook.
G+_Black Merc
Are we sure MS is not targeting Linux partitions as hostile objects? 98% of my computer work is on Linux(I split a HDD with win7oem). I fear going to win10 for MS to strip all my Linux off to claim the whole drive.
G+_Ben Yanke
That could be possible....in a normal situation extra partitions would be bad if not expected, and for a poweuser with them, it's assumed they'll keep track of them.
G+_Black Merc
I have had cases where a reinstall/ upgrade of win(whatever) killed the ability to boot properly to itself and/or Linux...I worry that winX will (in effect) lock a drive/system from multi boot options. G+_Ben Yanke
I would copy the Linux partition over to an external drive, get win10 working well, then copy back and adjust boot info...probably your safest bet.
G+_Jason Marsh
I'd just wipe it and install Knoppix.
