G+_Taylor Graham
Just finished my latest build; a new take on the same frame i used for my previous quad (emax250). I took a lot of pictures, so here's a build log for anyone that's interested. I did some cool things with conformal coating, bench testing, and the PDB. I'm using Kiss 18a ESCs, Cobra 2204 2300kv motors, Naze32 and the Cleanhawk PDB. http://imgur.com/a/asleZ
G+_Jason Marsh
Looks very nice, and I bet it flies just as well. I don't know anything about that silicone coating, but all the cards/boards I dealt with in previous employment were coated with a clear protective coating that made pcb repairs virtually impossible. At least here you're dealing with small modules and not large, very expensive cards. Makes we want to succumb to the quadcopter craze and get building. Kind of ;)
G+_Taylor Graham
Yeah, the silicone is pretty difficult to remove. You can scratch it off of solder pads reasonably easily though, which is a plus. There is also a solvent for removal that supposedly works. If i were to do it all again, id probably use acrylic conformal coating as its extremely easy to remove with simple solvent. The only downside to acrylic is it isnt as flexible and doesn't transfer heat as well.
