G+_Eddie Foy
Its a pretty limited version of Win I heard through the grapevine, no shell only unified apps. But still cool. MS doing good. Keep it open source/*nix

They say they have been working for 6 months with MS to make running Win10 happen. I beleve they mention in the article it is there core version aimed at the IoT which makrs sense. Really looking forward to playing with this. http://www.raspberrypi.org/raspberry-pi-2-on-sale

G+_Rud Dog
Been doing some preliminary reading on the new hardware along with the availability of the camera and was wondering has anyone put the two together for home security. The main options would have to be motion detection and off site storage of video. (Noob)
G+_Jason Perry
From everything I have read the Pi and Pi 2 are as identical as they could make them that way all the projects can be moved over to the new platform without complication. The only changes are the SOC which has a quad core processor ulrunning at 900MHz and 1GB of RAM There are plenty of security system setups for the pi so it should ba as simple as doing a Google search and picking the one you like the most. G+_Eddie Foy
PoE would be ideal. But would drive up costs in hardware and I'm sure licensing.

G+_Eddie Foy
add-on is pointless with the miserable micro USB power to the Pi. 10 Pis in a 19 inch rack with a 48 port PoE switch and then add in adapters to a USB. Nope, sorry: fail.

G+_David House Sr.
Going to get one and use with my TV so serve media! That's Project #1. I have held back ordering one due to the speed!, but this Pi2 should be fast enough!
G+_Rud Dog
David House Sr. Hey David, I am new to the DLNA or media server setup my comments here are based on the very little I have gleaned so far. Seems like my path was the same as yours and while looking over my WDmycloud ( some sort of LAN hardware I purchased) hardware noticed it had a check box for DLNA service. After loading partial movie from DVD to my WDmycloud I opened up my Vizio settings and found listing for my Mycloud hardware on my LAN. I won't go into how I pulled 20 minutes from my DVD and format chosen safe to say I could see the short clip via my TV so I clicked on it. It took a very long time in my opinion before I started seeing the movie begin, so long I thought my TV had locked up. At this point after seeing this delay I was put off and have not returned to the project only because I don't know where to begin asking the right questions. If you come to this point and are more successful then I was please drop me a line.
G+_Jason Perry
Rudy Trujillo, a lot of the delay usually has to do with what's transcoding the video. You really have to look at the details or follow someones tutorial. An RPi I cant say IMO would be a good choice to transcode the same as an all in one NAS. There just isn't enough power. An RPi receiving a stream from a more powerful computer thats transcoding it is a different story.
G+_Jason Perry
To follow that I dont know off the top of my head which computer transcodes for DLNA or if there is an option when settings up the connection. Shouldn't be hard to find out though
G+_Eddie Foy
Using the GPIO header bypasses the fuse and filtering.
