G+_Eddie Foy
How is it different then any other USB 3.0 thumb drive, aside from capacity?

G+_Eddie Foy
I could be wrong, but I think you mean FireWire and Thunderbolt. Both have the DMA, and been subject to hacking because of. And of course Apple is ditching Thunderbolt (after ditching FW) in favor of USB 3.1© I like that Apple cuts the strings, unlike MS who hold onto legacy WAY too long. But Apple tends to cut a bit too soon IMOHO.
G+_Ben Reese
USB 3.0 is a bottleneck I'd be ok with for an external drive. I agree that it's odd to call this a new product. When I first saw it posted my first thought was to find a link from CNET or something featuring the first thumb drive lol.
G+_Raymond Larabee Jr.
I went out six months ago and bought a Samsung EVO 840 and put it into an external case with usb3 and I get the same performance as this but with more capacity. 500gig for $250 plus 30 for a case. Why pay more for some pretty packaging when you can get it done for less?. MHO
