G+_Travis Crawford
If you choose to share it. The article you link even says its not a great idea, but also not a "end of the world" thing either. A little less sensationalism would go a long way
G+_Terry Henderson
The Article Clearly States, We Don't Know If It's On By Default !!!! It'S The Same Open Sockets Error That XP Got Hell For, A Little More Reading Would Go A Long Way Too :-)
G+_Terry Henderson
Addendum, If It's On By Default, Your Security Is Screwed, Even If You Find The Setting And Turn It Off, As It's Stored On The M/S Servers. This Was No Doubt A Service Provided By The NSA, For Backdoor Purposes !!!!!!
G+_Jeff Chilton
This is not "the end of the world" issue here and this has nothing to do with the NSA. I would move ahead with the Windows 10 upgrade but make sure this setting is turned off.
G+_Phillip Adcock
I've been running the beta since the beginning and I use to have a windows Phone. This feature which could be potentially cool is not on by default. If you use it, as your connecting to the network, it will want you to check a share with contact box. It's not something it does automatically.
G+_Steve C
Ha! I don't use Facebook, Outlook, and Skype so the jokes on them!
G+_Eddie Foy
Not for nothing auto connect feature on ALL OS's is a bad thing/feature too.
G+_Travis Crawford
Terry Henderson I did read the entire article. My statement stands Also of note: the more "!" used, the more legit the comment
G+_Ron Nichols
Travis Crawford Did you look at Terry's profile? "Mac Nuts" aren't known for their fair reviews of Windows features. Hah.
G+_Terry Henderson
Added Info : I Installed Build Number 10162 This A.M. In Parallels, If You Choose "Custom Settings" You Can "Turn It Off", Before Win 10 Finishes It's Install !! But You Have To Go Through "Every Setting" Very Carefully !!!! G+_Eddie Foy
Its still a beta. Actual release default settings can't be known.
G+_Ben Reese
Not worried about it at all. I don't consider my wifi password a major security guard. I don't have problems sharing my wifi password with most of my friends anyhow. IOT devices are typically a much larger security problem. More importantly, secure anything on your network you don't want others to have access to. My desktop PC is always on but it also requires a password to access it. G+_Black Merc
Loonytoons!!! Any information about (no mater how you feel about it) you, your connection and/or machine is a weapon that can AND will be used against you in the PUBLIC space of the internet. This is a kin to placing the front door key under the mat. Don't do it! Don't let it happen!
G+_Ben Reese
So I guess I'm confused about what the problem is exactly... Is it the ability to share a weak password over an SSL that people are concerned about or Microsoft storing the password?
