G+_Eddie Foy
I never understood the attraction of keeping all my creds on some unknown computer in some unknown location, controlled by a stranger.
G+_Ben Reese
Eddie Foy?, convenience and, believe it or not, security. LastPass can store those credentials far more securely than 99% of their users. As long as you can trust that they're using strong encryption and only the user holds the key, there's little reason not to trust them.
G+_Eddie Foy
I disagree with the security. Having them on my system vs the clown, I prefer on my system. ( there is zero chance of me knowing that the other computer is ever compromised) If my system is compromised, all bets off on both local and cloud. I watched Kevin Mitnick and Dave Kennedy totaly pwn 2FA LastPass with persistence live.

G+_Ben Reese
I agree that it's more secure to store them on your own machine. KeePass is probably a much better option for LastPass in that regard. But there's the whole syncing issue then if you want the passwords on another machine or your phone. Even then, MOST PEOPLE are more likely to have their data leaked than a trustworthy cloud provider who specializes in security. And I never heard for sure that LastPass was in fact hacked. What they said is they found unusual traffic on their internal network that was potentially nefarious. They did the right thing by telling the world and assuring of what they saw and what it could mean. If in fact encrypted passwords were stolen, I'd be more concerned about what will happen in 10 years when computers are powerful enough to brute force a 13+ character sudo random password through the hashing that LastPass uses. G+_Ben Reese
But I agree, Eddie Foy?. What I'd love to see is a secure personal "cloud" that I can host on my network and sync files, passwords, etc to my devices - or be accessible by my devices at all times. I want something in my house that I can control and that will compete with Google for cloud computing.
G+_Joe Jones
Ben Reese Not sure if this is what you are looking for. I have not owned one personally but did hear good things about them. http://filetransporterstore.com/collections/products/products/transporter-w-1tb-drive
