G+_Andy Ritting
I have a Lenovo X1 Carbon Touch Windows 8 laptop that I dock at work and use on Wifi at home. At work I need to disable Wifi and enable IE's proxy settings. At Home I need to Enable WIFI and disable IE's proxy settings. Previously, Thinkpad's had a program called Thinkvantage Access connections that could do this. This does not seem to be available for Windows 8. Is there a way to do these configurations with a script or are their software tools to do this?
G+_G Riedell
It looks like Windows still has docked/undocked hardware profile abilities. That might help with your ability to quickly (or even automatically, if the dock is recognized as being present or not, IIRC) switch between wired and wireless networks. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/225810 I found some information about automatically changing proxy settings at: http://superuser.com/questions/45871/can-i-make-windows-7-change-my-proxy-settings-based-on-my-network-connection Hope you find it helpful.?
