G+_Brian Festa
So quadfreaks. Time for some upgrades. What's your favorite carbon fiber clone frame? I am leaning towards the zmr250 http://m.banggood.com/H250-ZMR250-250mm-Carbon-Fiber-Mini-Quadcopter-Multicopter-Frame-Kit-p-933185.html Also for motors. has anyone found anything better then the cobra 2204s? G+_Eddie Foy
As a footnote, CF tends to absorb RF. (can reduce range)
G+_Taylor Graham
Emax/nighthawk 250 is the best clone frame IMO. You can mount ESCs in the under tray, like a QAV250! Like the ZMR, it isnt really full carbon, just fiberglass with outer layers of carbon. Still probably stronger than just fiberglass. Also the cobra 2204 2300kv motors are pretty high quality. 3mm threaded shaft, everything on them looks higher quality than the competition (sunnysky). Also the bell wont fly off like it will on sunnysky's motors. Also, about RF absorption, if you dont strap your antenna to the frame you wont have an issue. I've had mine out to 700 meters with no issues. Could probably go to 1km (frsky).
G+_Brian Festa
I will check that frame out. Yeah I was aware of the rf issues. I plan on printing an FC mount with integrated antenna stand and will be using that to keep them away from each other. Soon as I see some Cobras in stock I will strike! pun intended. G+_Eddie Foy
Kevlar is actually better choice fro frames. No RF issues and does better on impact then CF.
G+_Brian Festa
What's a good Kevlar frame then :)
G+_Taylor Graham
You don't have to worry about keeping your FC or receiver away from your camera really. If you get lines in your video, you have a power filtering issue (noise from escs), and need and LC filter. You'll just need to keep the antennas off of the frame (have them stick up) . If you're running Fpv, try to keep your receiver antenna as far away from the video transmitter as you can. Also, Eddie, where are you seeing kevlar frames? That sounds interesting. ? Do you mean kevlar reinforced plastic?
